David Frykman

currently works for Swedbank Markets, the investment bank arm of Sweden´s largest commercial bank.

David Frykman and Jakob Tolleryd first wrote about valuation in their academic work at Stockholm School of Economics. In 1999, they published the book "Valuation of Growth Companies – methods and models for valuation of growth companies".

If organisations are to achieve the ultimate corporate goal of maximising shareholder value, then understanding valuation is vitally important. Yet the majority of managers have ignored the area of corporate valuation for a long time, despite the fact that a firm's value is the ultimate measurement of the health and prosperity of a company. In Corporate Valuation, for the first time, you are given insight into the most universal issues in corporate valuation. It tackles the most commonly used valuation methods in a quick and easy - yet comprehensive - way, and is the perfect and only book you need if you want to get a quick grasp of the subject.

4.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended for all types of readers, October 2, 2003
This review is from: Corporate Valuation: an easy guide to measuring value (Paperback)
This book truly deserves a raving review. I have read a lot of litterature on the subject but this book is the one I have been longing for. It is comprehensive, practical and very easy to grasp. At the same time, as the authors have professional experience from valuation, it is very insightful, both regarding valuations and the process surrounding it. A must have for anyone interested in corporate valuation!

This review is from: Corporate Valuation: an easy guide to measuring value (Paperback)
This book is a gives a great overview of the Corporate Valuation area while at the same time being deep enough to give you all the tools for conducting your own valuation. I am an owner of a number of businesses and valuation questions tend to come up from time to time and after having read this book I will be able to handle those situation with a lot more professionalism. The best thing about the book though is that the authors seem to have real life experience of building and running companies themselves. While reading the book, I constantly came up with ideas on how to improve the businesses I own. The book focuses a lot on analyzing the business and the value drivers of the industry as well as on how to build value. As such, it also becomes an invaluable resource as a guide and inspiration on business building/improvement. The only weakness of the book is its lack of mathematical proofs, as the authors focus on how to do a valuation rather than why the formulas look the way they... Read more
