HIMA TADOORI (Pittsburgh, PA) has spent more than five years as an independent day trader specializing in equity futures. A member of the Market Technicians Association, Tadoori has also served as Senior Technical Analyst for Informa Global Markets, the leading provider of real-time, independent market commentary and analysis. There, Tadoori worked as part of a team of technical analysts responsible for producing accurate and timely technical analysis and trading strategies in markets including cash, bond futures, short-term interest rates, equities, commodities, foreign exchange, and emerging markets.
W.D. Gann’s works helped to pioneer the discipline of technical analysis, and they still offer immense potential value to investors and traders. However, Gann’s original publications are esoteric and can be challenging to read and use. In this book, long-time trader and expert technical analyst Hima Reddy brings these works to life for modern traders and investors. She distills Gann’s tenets into crystal-clear, bite-size explanations, and illuminates them with exceptionally intuitive charts and illustrations. Drawing on extensive personal experience, Reddy explains how Gann’s insights into price, pattern and time can be applied in all types of markets and market conditions. Using this book, any experienced trader can discover the value of Gann’s approach, and start utilizing it in his or her own trades. Then, with Reddy’s discussion as a foundation, traders and investors can delve even more deeply into all of Gann’s works, identifying even greater opportunities for profit.

Decent starting point for people interested in exploring Gann or technical analysis in general. Very basic information; not for intermediate/advanced readers.

My knowledge of and application of technical analysis is limited and I have long been interested in learning about Gann. In fact I started to work my way through a Gann volume. I found it heavy going and was burdened with the nagging fear that what worked for him then might not be applicable today. As you can imagine, I was delighted to discover this book. In all respects, the book is illuminating, keeping an eye on history while demonstrating how Gann methodologies to be used in today's strategies. The information is doled out in little, digestible chunks -- often aided by nicely-constructed illustrations. My only note of caution regarding this otherwise excellent book is that it might not be of much use to someone who is already adept at technical analysis. |
